Company Profile

The successful development and application of new drugs is increasingly tied to the latest progress in biotechnology and biochemistry. CellTrend enables its customers to capitalize on the synergies between pharmacy and biochemistry/biotechnology. Our experienced research and management team brings together a broad base of knowledge in modern biochemistry and clinical pharmacy. The team consists of pharmacists and medical doctors who know the requirements involved in development and application of medicinal drugs.

CellTrend offers the following technologies and services:

  1. Cell culture systems for research on active substances
  2. Development, production and distribution of antibody-based detection systems
  3. Individual pharmacotherapy

Cell Culture Assays

In vitro cultivation of eukaryotic cells is an ideal compromise between controversially discussed animal experiments and simple test systems using only single biological components like enzymes. Cell cultures are increasingly used in pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries as a cost effective and reliable means to evaluate toxicity and efficacy in the development of new active agents.

CellTrend offers techniques and equipment for cell culture testing. Our main focus is on complex functional tests (e.g. cytokine secretion, angiogenesis, modulation of immune functions, colony assays, cell migration, cytotoxicity of immune cells against tumor cells, and adhesion to endothelial cells). Study designs as well as the test systems themselves are individually adapted to customers needs.

Antibody-based Detection Systems

CellTrend develops, produces, and distributes antibody-based test systems e.g. ELISAs (enzyme linked immuno sorbend assay), a quick and sensitive analytical method that is characterized by specific binding of antibodies to analytes.

Various validated diagnostic and research test kits are available. If required, samples are analysed in CellTrend laboratories. We also offer to develop new ELISAs for your analytes.

Individual Pharmacotherapy

For the successful treatment of a patient, information is needed about the disease as well as about the individual characteristics of the patient. Based on this knowledge the appropriate therapy can be designed.
This is especially important if a therapy is associated with severe side-effects like e.g. most therapies against malignant tumors exhibit. Concepts to predict therapy outcome in terms of response as well as toxicity - so called "predictive assays" - are an extremely valuable aid in determining the most suitable therapy for an individual patient.
In close cooperation with university partners CellTrend is developing assays to offer the possibility of individualizing pharmacotherapy.
