The development of capillaries to supply tissue with oxygen and nutrients, a process known as angiogenesis, is a crucial step a tumor undergoes from a small mass of cells to a more malignant phenotype. Interfering with this process by using anti-angiogenic agents is being considered a promising approach in the treatment and/or prevention of cancer, arteriosclerosis, and cardiovascular diseases.
CellTrend has validated the following assays for the analysis of angiogenesis-related events in-vitro which provide a useful tool for the screening of substance databases:
Tube Formation Assay Endothelial Cell Migration Assay
Endothelial Cell Proliferation Assay
Matrix Metalloproteinases Assay
